A single-stage rocket developed from scratch under my leadership with a 14-person engineering team, reaching an apogee of XXX feet (XXX meters). We carried out a holistic design of the aerodynamic, structural and avionics subsystems to maximize flight stability and fly safely within transonic speed limits of Mach ~0.902. To analyze mechanical shocks in flight dynamics and test how far they can be reduced, TPU-based viscoelastic dampers with a gyroid geometry were designed for the payload, which is ejected at apogee and recovered independently. The system experimentally validates isolation performance by comparing data from IMU sensors in the damped and undamped zones.
